About Us

Transmark is an international Group of companies engaged in a wide variety of activities in the energy and other selected business sectors. Established in 1956 as a small local distributor of industrial products in the Netherlands, it has become a global player with 46 branches in 15 countries.


The Group employs more than 700 staff worldwide. The US$ 400 million turnover, generated an EBITDA of more than US$ 50 million in 2008. A similar EBITDA profit generation is expected for 2009.

The Transmark Group is family owned. The head office is located in Amsterdam.

CORE ACTIVITIES:

Valve Distribution

This activity concerns the distribution of valves, instrumentation and ancillary flow control equipment. Main customers are in the energy, chemical and other industrial businesses. It has become the world’s largest valve supplier outside America. 
On 1st November 2009 this activity has been been sold to MRC under a partly cash, partly share transction, whereby Transmark has become the largest private minority shareholder of the new combination.

MRC is the largest supplier of valves, pipes and fittings (VPF) in North America. In 2008, it had a turnover of more than US$ 5 billion and an EBITDA of approximately US$ 600 million. The merger of MRC and Transmark establishes by far the largest distributor of VPF in the world and will enable the company to supply customers on a truly global basis. 
An IPO is contemplated within the next 2 years.

Directional drilling

Transmark-Eds is an established Dutch drilling contractor, operating for major oil companies. It operates both onshore and offshore in area’s like North Sea, Middle East, Africa and South America. The company is specialized in directional drilling, which enables the company to penetrate oil and gas reservoirs more efficiently.

Subsea services

Transmark Subsea is a key supplier to oil companies in the field of underwater completion of oil and gas wells. The company designs and manufactures all sort of cable systems required during the production operations.

Renewable energy

Transmark Renewables develops projects mainly in the solar and wind energy. Its current geographical area of operations is predominantly Europe. But Transmark also expects to capitalize in future on opportunities in emerging renewable markets. 
Transmark Renewables is about to sign a co-operation agreement with Green Giraffe Capital Partners for joint development of new projects. An amount of EUR 250 million has been earmarked for investment in renewable projects during the next three to five years.
